The EquiFlow Lead-Free Program is on a mission to provide safe, lead-free drinking water to Wausau residents by systematically replacing up to 8,000 lead service lines by 2028. With the help of Community Infrastructure Partners and Wausau Water Works, the program is advancing in carefully planned phases to make this vision a reality.
In collaboration with Community Infrastructure Partners, Wausau Water Works is creating an up-to-date, accessible inventory of lead service lines in the city. Using property records and visual inspections, the interactive map helps guide where and when work will occur. Residents can check their address on the map to view the current status of their service line material. Each fall, Wausau Water Works will prepare an updated map, highlighting the proposed work areas for the following year. This map, along with updated service line data, supports funding applications submitted to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to secure financial support for replacements.
